The City of San Jose has a very convenient light rail system which drops off and picks up across the street from the back entrance to the hotel. A shuttle runs from the airport to this light rail station if you want to use that to go from airport to hotel.
This same light rail system goes into the heart of downtown San Jose where Max (at least) was exuberant to find a Vegan Deli.

Did I mention the Vegan deli (it's delicious!)? There is also a Denny's (if you're so inclined) as well as a variety of other restaurants a short light rail ride away, in addition to the in-house restaurant.
